Van Horne Seed Bean Handling Facility

The Van Horne Service Center recently completed installation of a new bulk seed bean handling system. The 4 storage bins will hold 3,000 units of beans each. The system is computer automated -- once a customer requests the number of units of a variety, the beans are conveyed into the building where they can be treated with Acceleron (RR2Y only) or with Cruiser. Customers may also select if they want an innoculant on the beans. The seed treater is capable of treating up to 2,500 units/hour, with no minimums on the batch size, and treats the beans as they are loaded out to the customer's bulk tender. If requested, beans can be repackaged into superbags, or loaded into hard-sided cubits which can then be loaded onto the customer's tender. New Century also sells tenders; see Travis Seed Cart for more information.
